Welcome to the website of Restore and Rebuild Ministries and to our group blog! We are glad you’re here.
Restore and Rebuild Ministries is a team made up of Dr. Dave Friese, pastor and certified Pastoral Counselor, his wife, Becky Friese, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Susie Loomis, Family Life Educator and Mentor. We provide counseling, education and mentoring services to the community of North San Diego County and beyond.
We blog about marriage and relationships, parenting issues, mental and emotional health, spiritual growth, and about the joys and challenges of ministry.
Dave and Becky launched Restore and Rebuild in November 2014 to meet three specific needs.
1) Affordable Therapy
When life gets overwhelming and our coping skills can’t keep up, it can help to turn to a wise third party for support. However, it can be very difficult to find help that fits your budget and a counselor who shares your values.
Restore and Rebuild Counseling Center, located in Encinitas, California, offers Christian counseling, sliding scale fees, and, if needed, scholarship funds to help subsidize the cost of therapy. We don’t want finances to keep people from getting the help they need.
At Restore and Rebuild, we see therapy as part of ministry. We count it a privilege to assist people in their journey toward health and healing. Our vision for Christian counseling resonates with that of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and our counseling center is located at their church in Encinitas, California.
2) Support for Families
One of the biggest changes we’ve seen in over 30 years of working with youth and parents is that today’s families are dramatically busier than families were in the past.
These days, parents and teens are under intense time pressures. We want to be good parents, but in the middle of the stress, it’s easy to get reactive and hard to be proactive.
Through Restore and Rebuild, our team supports busy parents to help them navigate the challenges of raising healthy kids in today’s culture. We provide accessible, relevant resources to help individuals and families thrive.
3) Help for Helpers
People who help others as a profession — for example, pastors, teachers, or therapists — are at risk of compassion fatigue, boundary issues, and burnout.
Dave, Becky and Susie have experienced firsthand the ups and downs of life in ministry. We know that even the best of helpers just cannot do it alone. If we aren’t careful, giving to others can take a heavy toll on our own marriages, our children, and even our personal health.
Because we have walked this road personally, we have a passion for helping others navigate this path successfully. Part of our goal at Restore and Rebuild is to help helpers. We provide resources to encourage, educate and support those in helping professions. Ministry leaders and their family members find an open door and a listening ear at our counseling center.
